Immunizations

As military spouses, we are so fortunate to have free access to immunizations to prevent major illnesses. My mom is 75 and was carrying her authorization certificate to receive the Zoster shot for Shingles. Unfortunately, she didn't make it a priority and is now is in her 5th week of an outbreak, not knowing when the illness will end. The CDC recommends Tetanus shots every 10 years for adults. Pertussis (whooping cough) has made its way back into the general population. Michelle M had to show recent proof of immunization from Pertussis before she was granted access to her newborn niece in a Texas hospital.

Click on this link for the CDC's adult immunization recommendations. http://www.immunize.org/catg.d/p4030.pdf

You don't have to make an appointment to get immunized on Fort MacArthur or at El Segundo. Immunization hours, except for training days, are 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Stay healthy!
